She had such a wonderful way with words, not overdone, not too little, just right (kinda like Goldilocks). She spent decades out in nature just observing and being part of the amazing world around us. Many people never stop to appreciate the small things, but she saw them all and wrote about them. I like hiking alone, AND with friends. It&#8217;s a balance of both for me. But when I&#8217;m feeling introspective, I swear she wrote this poem just for me \ud83d\ude42 Thank you Mary Oliver for sharing your gift.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"e0dbu-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"e0dbu-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"e0dbu-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"9e95m-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9e95m-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9e95m-0-0\">How I go to the woods<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"ec7va-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"ec7va-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ec7va-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"e168h-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"e168h-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"e168h-0-0\">Ordinarily, I go to the woods alone, with not a single<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"40i2m-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"40i2m-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"40i2m-0-0\">friend, for they are all smilers and talkers and therefore<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"1r5o0-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1r5o0-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1r5o0-0-0\">unsuitable.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"fcu5l-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"fcu5l-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fcu5l-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"9ni1k-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9ni1k-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9ni1k-0-0\">I don\u2019t really want to be witnessed talking to the catbirds<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"1j40f-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1j40f-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1j40f-0-0\">or hugging the old black oak tree. I have my way of<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"c1ne-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"c1ne-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"c1ne-0-0\">praying, as you no doubt have yours.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"6i61g-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"6i61g-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6i61g-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"6708b-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"6708b-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6708b-0-0\">Besides, when I am alone I can become invisible. I can sit<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"f9h9d-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"f9h9d-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f9h9d-0-0\">on the top of a dune as motionless as an uprise of weeds,<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"d7her\" data-offset-key=\"flktj-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"flktj-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"flktj-0-0\">until the foxes run by unconcerned.
